These performances are FREE and open to students worldwide!For more on DSOLive Classroom Edition, or for more educational resources, visit dso.org/classroom.Share the magic of classical music with your classroom through this interactive performance made especially for grades 4-6.Program highlights include:Ives  Country Band MarchVivaldi  Excerpts from The Four SeasonsBates  Rusty Air in Carolina: Katydid CountryCopland  Appalachian Spring Michelle Merrill - conductor Rapidly rising conductor Michelle Merrill is the newly named Assistant Conductor of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.  A passionate and dynamic artist, Merrill was awarded the prestigious Ansbacher Conducting Fellowship in 2013 by members of the Vienna Philharmonic and the American Austrian Foundation, which enabled her to be in residence at the world-renowned Salzburg Festival.DJ Oliver- host  A Detroit native, D.J. Oliver attended Wayne State University and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. D.J. has worked as a lead performer for Carnival and Norwegian Cruise Lines. In addition to his theatre and live performances, D.J. has appeared on many commercials and industrial films as well TV shows. His most recent credit was on the ABC show Detroit 187. He currently hosts the Detroit Public Television series "Detroit Performs."    D.J. is thankful and humbled to be making his DSO debut!

He is the executive director of NextVista.org (a free educational video library by and for students and teachers) and ran the MERIT program at the Krause Center for Innovation (tinyurl.com/KCI-MERIT). Rushton trains teachers at schools and keynotes at conferences around the world on affordable technology, the power of multimedia, and the professional perspectives and experiences of teachers at all levels.
